Nitro Fuel tank cleaning
How do you guys clean your fuel tanks? Merely dump anything out and spray some carb or restriction cleaner in there?

WD40 works a treat....
Dont know about using carby cleaner with plastic, Ive never had much luck with that

I used wd 40 on a buddies tank it had saturday for a fews years sprayed it in let it sit over nighttime and dumped it out the adjacent day risned it with water and allow it fully dry earlier doing anything with it

The best thing to use for cleaning out a fuel tank (of old oil residue, dirt, etc..) is fresh fuel itself, or yous could use denatured booze. Denatured alcohol takes a fiddling more than "swishing around" to get all of the gunk dissolved into the booze, but it works. I mix my own fuel and have buckets of pure methanol so I merely use that, although methanol is hard to detect in some parts of the land, and probably overkill.
Using petroleum based solvents and oils similar WD40 and chemicals like brake cleaner or carb cleaner are not wise to use every bit the o-rings in the lid will not bad upwards from petroleum chemicals and the plastic can be weakened past the brake cleaner and carb cleaning solvents. I know from previous inexperience - I concluded up with a tank that started to leak where the solvent ate a hole in the bottom of the tank. Of course not all fuel tanks are made of the same kind of plastic, so it may not impact your tank specifically. I only wouldn't do it to exist prophylactic.

Thanks, I already tried the WD-forty method but I took the take all apart to do it and I didn't use much. Practice you lot guys utilize fuel filters on your cars?

Many fuel tanks have a filter where the fuel pick up is.

I apply filters on all of my cars. The fuel tanks in my cars don't take congenital in filters like some tanks do.

I personally have never had an RC car with an in-tank filter, but I would imagine they would exist a simple mesh screen. Back flushing the tank would clear it out I'g sure. The inline filters I use tin exist opened up and cleaned out. I usually use DuBro filters. My LHS has them in the airplane section.

The tank filters are not replaceable...only flushing it should be sufficient. Y'all can add a inline filter besides if you see fit. About of the inline automobile filters I have would exist pretty pointless using along with a tank filter...1 or the other is acceptable.

The filter in the tank is similar to a chimera rock in a fish tank, yous demand fresh fuel as 1QwkSport2.5r suggested, and then flush and backflush the rock filter in the tank, dump fuel, echo.
Use a long fuel line and your mouth for lol suck and accident action for flushing/loosening upwardly debris in the filter.
Always worked smashing for me.
